The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the movement and activities of terrorists were being monitored by “intelligence tentacles” for the past one week.
The ISPR said “terrorists were lured by providing a getaway vehicle which was intercepted and neutralized”. It added that arms, ammunition and Afghan currency were also recovered from the terrorists.
Clearance operation is going on in the area.

The ISPR statement came hours after the news that 12 terrorists were killed by the police.
Police said terrorists killed six policemen in an attack in December 2022.
The law enforcement agency had also informed that the terrorists were going to Tank to carry out the attack.
The country has been facing growing insurgency, particularly in Balochistan and KP, after the outlawed TTP ended a ceasefire with Islamabad in November.
More than 87,000 people have been killed in Pakistan since the start of the war against terrorism. The martyrs include innocent civilians, armed forces and personnel of the police and other civil armed forces.
Security forces have been carrying out successive operations to eliminate militants, but the past five months have seen an increase in terrorist attacks, which have also claimed the lives of many civilians.
As the TTP reportedly regrouped in Afghanistan after the Taliban took over, Pakistan repeatedly asked the neighboring country’s government to ensure that its territory was not used for terrorism. But the Taliban-led government could not live up to expectations.
According to Home Minister Rana Sanaullah, militant activity has been mainly concentrated in Balochistan and KP, with 31 percent of attacks during the past year and 67 percent of the latter being carried out by the former.
