Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday suspended the membership of 18 MPs of the Muslim League (N) who created a ruckus in the assembly after the ruling party PTI submitted a resolution against the Toshah Khana reference decision.
The speaker suspended the membership of 18 members of the assembly belonging to the opposition party Muslim League-N.
The action was taken after Muslim League (N) members protested in the legislature after a PTI lawmaker moved a resolution against the Tosha Khana reference decision that disqualified former prime minister Imran Khan. was
Among the members who were prosecuted are Uzma Zahid Bukhari, Rahila Khadim, Mian Abdul Rauf, Samiullah Khan and others.
The suspended members have also been barred from entering the assembly premises for 15 days.
In the notification issued by the Punjab Assembly Secretariat giving the reasons for the suspension, the members protested in the legislature and raised slogans which fall under the category of indecency. Therefore, the Speaker took action against them.
