£190 million settlement case: NAB expedites probe against 22 ex-ministers

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to tighten the grip on former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has stepped up its investigation against 22 former ministers in the £190 million National Crime Agency (NCA) UK settlement case. is given NAB has sought the records of vehicles, properties and bank accounts in the name of 22 former ministers from the Excise Department of all provinces and issued a letter to the Excise Secretaries. The joint investigation team (CIT) of NAB Rawalpindi probing the £190 million NCA UK settlement case has already recorded the statements of former ministers. Majority of the former ministers appeared before the CIT while some submitted their responses through their lawyers when they were called to record their statements. Among the former ministers whose records have been sought are Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Murad Saeed, Pervaiz Khattak, Zubaidah Jalal, Hammad Azhar, Shafqat Mehmood, Shireen Mazari, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Ejaz Ahmed Shah, Ali Amin Gandapur, Farogh Naseem, Makhdoom Khusro. And others are included. Asad Umar, Umar Ayub, Fawad Chaudhry, Mehboob Sultan, Faisal Vawda, Ali Zaidi, Azam Swati, Sheikh Rashid, Zaheeruddin Babar Awan and others. NAB has also sought details or copies of certified documents of vehicles bought or sold by former ministers between January 2018 and 2023.
