3 soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in DI Khan.

The Media Affairs Wing of the Army said in a statement on Tuesday that three soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the night of March 20 and 21, terrorists fired at a police post in Khoti area of DI Khan.

Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and blocked all possible escape routes after receiving information about the terror attack, ISPR said.

It added that the fleeing terrorists were intercepted in the general area of Sago.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Havaldar Muhammad Azhar Iqbal (42), a resident of Lodhran. 34-year-old Naik Muhammad Asad, a resident of Khanewal. and Sepahi Muhammad Isa, 22, a resident of South Waziristan.

Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the dead terrorists.

The media wing of the army added that the area is being cleared to eliminate the terrorists found in the area.

The statement said that the Pakistan Army is committed to end the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave men strengthen our resolve.
