BEIJING: A fire at a factory in Anyang, China’s Henan province has killed 36 people and injured two, state media said on Tuesday.
The fire broke out at Kaixinda Trading Co Ltd, located in the Wenfeng District, or “high-tech zone”, in Yang city, the report said.
According to local media, the fire started on Monday afternoon and fire teams dispatched 63 vehicles to the scene.
The fire was brought under control by 8 pm local time (1200 GMT) and fully extinguished by 11 pm. As of Tuesday morning, 36 people were reported dead and two were sent to hospital for treatment with minor injuries, CCTV reported.
According to the report, two people are missing.
According to an official statement, psychological counselors were at the scene for the victims’ families.
Local officials said the Public Security Department had controlled the relevant criminal suspects but did not disclose further details or details.
Kaixinda is a small private firm.
