4 people martyred in suicide blast in North Waziristan

Rawalpindi/Peshawar/Miranshah: Two soldiers of Pakistan Army, a police constable and a civilian were martyred in a suicide attack in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan on Wednesday.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), the vehicle of the suicide bomber was stopped by the security personnel in the general area of Datta Khel and he blew himself up. As a result, Naik Syedullah Shah (age 33, resident of Charsadda) and soldier Jawad Khan (age 31, resident of district Haripur), police constable of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department Hakeem Jan (resident of district North Waziristan) and An innocent citizen embraced martyrdom.

The suicide bomber intended to target a public gathering but a quick response by the security forces prevented a major disaster as the troops immediately stopped the suicide bomber’s vehicle on suspicion and killed several people. He sacrificed his life to save innocent lives. ISPR said that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies are committed to end the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further strengthen our resolve.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner of the tribal district and the police told JEE News that the suicide attack took place during routine checking. The DC said that the bodies and the injured have been shifted to Miranshah Hospital while security forces have cordoned off the area to collect evidence. Before the successful operations of the armed forces, North Waziristan was known as the stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban group.

District Police Officer Salim Riaz said that it was a suicide blast in which two soldiers, a policeman and civilians were martyred. He further said that another soldier and a constable were seriously injured in the blast.

The official said that the suicide bomber detonated when the police stopped him for checking. As a result, two security forces personnel, a police constable and a civilian were martyred on the spot while one soldier Manzoor and one soldier Shakir were seriously injured. The condition of Havaldar Manzoor is said to be critical. According to some reports, many civilians have also been injured in this attack.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a security forces check post in North Waziristan on Wednesday, which resulted in tragic loss of life and injuries to several people.

In a statement issued here, he paid tribute to the security personnel who were martyred in the line of duty and acknowledged their eternal sacrifices. The martyrdom of our brave security forces is an irreparable loss to the nation. Their courage and dedication to protect their homeland will always be remembered.”

He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those martyred in the terrorist attack. Promising immediate action against the culprits, the Minister assured that no stone will be left unturned to bring the terrorists to justice. “We will take full account of every martyrdom by the terrorists,” he announced, stressing the government’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of civilians.

Expressing hope, Sanaullah said that, God willing, the terrorists responsible for this heinous act will meet their end very soon. Our security forces are working tirelessly to nab them and end their nefarious activities.

The minister prayed for patience and strength for the families of the martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
