Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday accepted the request of Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed for early retirement.
The request for early retirement of Lt General Faiz Hameed was sent by the Ministry of Defense to Prime Minister Shehbaz.
His name was included in the list of six nominees for the appointment of the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed’s name is at number six in the list, however, Gen. Asim Munir got the honor of being appointed as the new Army Chief of Pakistan.
Soon after his appointment, Lt Gen Faiz applied for early retirement.
