Punjab Govt has announced to provide foolproof security to England cricket team.

Lahore: The Punjab government says that it will ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of England cricket team’s visit to Punjab.

Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Mohammad Basharat Raja said that there will be no compromise on the security of cricketers visiting the province.

He directed that the England team should not move until the route is completely cleared. He was addressing the Law and Order Committee meeting held at the Civil Secretariat. Provincial Transport Minister Munib Sultan Cheema, Chief Secretary Abdullah Khan Sambal and senior officers of the respective districts also attended.

The security arrangements of the England cricket team were reviewed in the meeting. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Punjab Captain (Rtd) Asadullah briefed the committee on the security plan.

The meeting was told that 7 thousand police personnel were deployed in Rawalpindi during the Test match.

Four thousand spectators came to the stadium on the first day of the Test match. A shuttle bus service was provided to get from the parking lot to the stadium”, briefed ACS Home.

Basharat Raja said that the England team will play the second Test match in Multan after which they will leave for Karachi. He said that Multan’s administration and police should complete all the arrangements for the next Test match before time.

He vowed to ensure strict implementation of the security plan. The cabinet committee also approved funds of Rs 50 million for setting up a police station in Dhamiyal area of ​​Rawalpindi.
