Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has said that he will dissolve the Provincial Assembly on the order of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The KP Chief Minister’s comment came on the heels of Imran Khan’s announcement on November 26 that he would dissolve the Punjab and KP Assemblies unless the coalition government gave a date for early elections.
Addressing the parliamentary party meeting in Peshawar, Chief Minister KP said that all these are MPAs of Imran Khan.
He said that members of the provincial assembly are sending their resignations to him on a daily basis. “However, I have asked them not to send me their resignations,” he added.
He said that we are standing with Imran Khan for the real freedom of the country, so I will dissolve the assembly as soon as I get the order from Imran Khan.
He further said that KP is the home of Imran Khan and we are ready to sacrifice our lives for Imran Khan.
Imran doubled down on dissolving assemblies.
Addressing the same parliamentary party meeting, Imran Khan once again announced that he will dissolve the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in December this year.
The former prime minister said the party was ready to hold talks with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN)-led coalition government, if they were willing to give a date for general elections.
“The country needs political stability, because economic stability will also come with political stability,” Khan said.
Imran Khan said that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has given him the authority to dissolve the assembly.
We will dissolve the provincial assemblies this month and move towards the elections. Our members should prepare for elections. We will soon announce the dissolution of the assemblies,” said the ousted prime minister, who was ousted in April by a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.
He further said that elections are the need of the country and not of PTI, if the elections are delayed then it will benefit PTI.
Expressing his views on the coalition government’s stance on the elections, Khan said the government was trying to delay the elections due to fear of defeat, claiming that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was following the current government’s line. is pulling
