Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) senior leader and Economic Affairs Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has claimed on Tuesday that party chief Nawaz Sharif will return home in January 2023.
The PML-N leader made this claim while speaking on a program. The PML-N supremo has been living in self-imposed exile in London for the past four years.
Nawaz Sharif will allot tickets to the candidates for the next general elections, the PML-N leader said that the elections in the country will be held in 2023.
“It looks like the assemblies will dissolve between March-June 2023,” he predicted.
The PML-N supremo left for London in November 2019 following his illness as the then Prime Minister Imran Khan allowed him to go abroad for treatment.
In 2018, the Accountability Court sentenced Nawaz Sharif to 7 years in prison in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference, while he was also sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison and a fine of 8 million pounds (1.3 billion rupees). Reference to Avonfield Properties.
Subsequently, in 2019, the Lahore High Court (LHC) suspended his sentence and allowed Nawaz to go abroad for treatment.
