LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) sources said on Saturday that party supremo Nawaz Sharif will be requested to return to Pakistan immediately in case of dissolution of the assemblies.

Party sources told JEE News that “Nawaz Sharif will be welcomed at the airport” as the coalition parties are now asking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to dissolve the assemblies as he is in Punjab. Ready to fight. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the sources, Muslim League (N) has expressed its willingness to recognize Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab and has also made PTI’s demand for new elections conditional.

Sources said that PML-N is in close contact with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

As soon as Shujaat gets something concrete, PML-N will move forward with its strategy.

He added that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Shujaat are also in touch again. However, no political talks have been reported between them so far.

Regarding the party’s position, sources said that PML-N did not want Parvez Elahi’s “double game”. “He (Punjab Chief Minister) will have to come out [what is on his mind].”

Sources further said that during the PML-N Punjab meetings, the party leadership also directed its divisional presidents to prepare lists of expected candidates for their constituencies.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah told JEE News that Shujaat was an ally of the coalition parties and it is not uncommon for both sides to meet.

The minister said that we do not want a double game like before.

A day earlier, Sanaullah had said that preparations are in full swing for the historic reception of PML-N supremo Nawaz.

Speaking to the media on Friday, the minister said, “We have started working on the arrangements from today. Workers from every union council will come to welcome the party president, with Nawaz Sharif’s name written on them.”

“Nawaz Sharif’s reception will decide who wins general elections”.

Senior PML-N leader and Economic Affairs Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq claimed earlier this week that the elder Sharif is coming in January next year.

Three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for London in November 2019 after his illness. He lives in self-imposed exile in the British capital.

Nawaz Sharif will allot tickets to the candidates for the next general elections, Ayaz Sadiq told that the elections will be held in 2023.

On 2 December, Khan urged the government to negotiate a date for early elections to end the impasse that has fueled political instability since his ouster in April.

The 70-year-old cricketer-turned-politician is leading nationwide protests, calling for early elections after his ouster in a parliamentary vote led by his united opposition.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who replaced Khan, has rejected the demand for snap polls and said that the elections will be held at the end of next year as per the schedule.

Khan recently threatened to dissolve the parliaments of two provinces ruled by his party and allies.

“Either sit with us and discuss when the next elections should be held, or we will dissolve the assemblies,” Khan said in a live-telecast address to his party members.
