ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday directed the cabinet members to adopt an aggressive approach against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) narrative.
According to sources, in the meeting, the Prime Minister discussed the future political strategy of the government along with his cabinet along with federal ministers, advisers and special assistants.
Sources say that the government has decided to highlight political and economic failures during the four-year tenure of the PTI federal government.
Sources said the prime minister ordered the government’s narrative to be disseminated to the public, especially on social media.
The Prime Minister has been on the offensive against the PTI for some time now, a demonstration of which was seen in his press talk on Monday.
He called the PTI leaders “heartless” and “weak” in a press conference that mainly focused on the Daily Mail’s apology to him.
At a press conference accompanied by members of the federal cabinet, the prime minister said: “They thought it would not matter if it would damage the reputation of Pakistan. They wanted to embarrass the Sharif family no matter what.” “
The Prime Minister said that when the article was published in 2019, PTI ministers were excited about the publication of the article and started making baseless allegations against the Sharif family.
The prime minister also termed the sale of the gift watch by Khan as “a cheap move”, adding that no one can deny that the watch was not sold after the evidence that came to light.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that ‘I don’t use the word ‘fraud’, but this is what Imran did.
The prime minister called for “introspection” to understand how such a person ruled Pakistan, who not only “frauded” but damaged Pakistan on two important fronts – foreign policy and economy.
Apologies to the Daily Mail
Prime Minister Shehbaz received a much-awaited apology last week from the publishers of the Mail newspapers to retract all allegations of corruption in an article by reporter David Rose against him and his son-in-law Imran Ali Yusuf. But was accused of stealing from the British taxpayer. ‘Money.
The British publication also removed this article – “Did the family of a Pakistani politician who has become a poster boy for British overseas aid, steal funds for earthquake victims, asks David Rose” – from all Mail Publishers platforms. Written by David Rose.
The UK-based publication has failed to substantiate allegations made by its journalist David Rose in an article against the prime minister about alleged misuse of public funds.
