The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to move a no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi and Punjab Assembly Speaker Muhammad Sabtain Khan, JEE News reported on Saturday citing sources.

According to sources, the resolution was signed by the members of Muslim League-N at Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan’s house. Around 106 members of the party were present at Mashhood’s residence. Sources further said that the party will submit the adjournment motion today.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is holding a consultation meeting with party leaders at Zaman Park regarding the dissolution of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies.

The senior leadership of PTI including Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan, Pervez Khattak, Shibli Faraz, Ali Amin Gandapur and others are participating in the meeting.

During the meeting, the party leadership is expected to discuss today’s rally speech and the current political situation.

Meeting with Elahi Imran
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Elahi held a consultative meeting with Imran Khan at his residence in Zaman Park before the Lahore rally. Chief Minister’s son Monis Elahi was also with him.

Sources also said that Imran asked Chief Minister Elahi to sit next to him in today’s rally. The Chief Minister is expected to meet the PTI chief again at 7 pm.

According to sources, PML-Q leader Monis met the former prime minister last night. The two leaders discussed the political situation in the meeting.

Sources say that Monis took Imran Khan into confidence on the whole situation.

He told the PTI chief that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led government may target the PTI and Muslim League (Q) leadership if the assemblies are dissolved.

According to informed sources, Monis conveyed Pervez’s message to the PTI chairman, “You are authorized to take the final decision [on the dissolution of the assembly].”

The PML-Q leader assured the former prime minister that the assembly would be dissolved whenever the latter said so. However, CM Elahi suggested that this is not the right time to take a decision.

The PML-Q leader informed Khan that the majority of his party’s legislators wanted the continuation of development work in their respective areas.

Chief Minister Elahi held important meetings.
A day before Khan announced the date of dissolution of the assemblies, Chief Minister Elahi held an important meeting in Rawalpindi.

The Chief Minister went to Rawalpindi on Friday evening where he held an important meeting. After returning to Lahore at night, he consulted the party leaders on the current political situation.

Earlier in the week, the PTI chief had said that he would announce the date of dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab assemblies on December 17.
