‘PTI will take a U-turn on dissolving assemblies in a week’

Reacting to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s announcement to dissolve the assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Home Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday claimed that the party would ‘ Will take a ‘U-turn’. a week”.

The interior minister dismissed the PTI chief’s announcement, saying, “[People] will see how the U-turn comes within a week.”

In response to a question, Sanaullah said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) now has nothing to offer Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi. He also accused Chief Minister Elahi of corruption.

Talking about the PML-N’s strategy to counter the PTI move, the minister said the parliamentary party decided to opt for the “constitutional option”.

Sanaullah demanded Imran to dissolve the assemblies immediately and said that there is no need to wait for December 23.

On his part, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that he will not take any unconstitutional step.

Questioning the one-week timeline for dissolution of assemblies, the special assistant to the prime minister said it seemed he wanted to “save face”.

Imran will realize his mistake when he loses the provincial assemblies, Kaira added.

“Ilahi has no option but to ally with PTI,” he said, adding that the Punjab chief minister is an experienced player and hoped that he would try to convince Imran whether No matter what the solution.

“Crying just to hide your corruption”
Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb while holding a press conference said that if former Chief of Army Staff General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa gave NRO, why did you (Imran Khan) extend it?

“If General (retd) Bajwa was not allowing you to work, you should have dissolved the assemblies then,” he said, adding that Khan was mumbling because he himself was the NRO (National Conciliation Ordinance)

Describing the PTI chief as mentally ill, Aurangzeb said that Khan’s kitchen runs on the earnings of these two assemblies.

The information minister said Imran knew he would be held accountable if he was removed from power, adding that he was “crying only to hide his corruption.”

PTI responds
In response, PTI senior vice-president Fawad Chaudhry explained why the party chief decided to extend the dissolution of assemblies by about a week.

The former information minister tweeted, “A break of six days has been taken as we have to process the resignations of the National Assemblies during this time.”
