ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday said that if he regains power, he will not take any action against General (Rtd) Bajwa, airing his grievances with the former army chief. Calling it a “personal conflict”.
The former prime minister said these things while meeting a delegation of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) at his residence Zaman Park in Lahore.
Imran further said that the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has said that he will remain neutral. However, he added that the biggest test of his impartiality would be holding elections within three months of the dissolution of the KP and Punjab Assemblies.
The PTI chief added that he became convinced that there was a plan to topple the PTI government when Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed was removed from the post of DGISI.
He further said that I told General Bajwa that if the plan to topple the government succeeds, no one will be able to manage the country’s economy.
Imran Khan said that he asked the former army chief how Shahbaz Sharif, who was nominated in corruption cases worth Rs 16 billion, could be considered for the prime ministership, but later he came to know that corruption for General (R) No problem. Bajwa
The PTI chief reiterated that the former COS wanted to make Aleem Khan the Chief Minister of Punjab. However, he added that he came to know about Aleem Khan’s involvement in corruption and rejected his request.
Imran said that the country’s economy would have performed even better if the global pandemic had not come, the world, especially China, had been shut down for two years.
He asked that the country’s economy is sinking while people’s income is stagnant, how will the loans be returned in this situation? He said that the country cannot develop if there is no rule of law.
“I told General Bajwa that if we catch 10 to 12 big corrupt people, everything will be on track. We had a good relationship with General Bajwa but I don’t know what happened later,” he said. said
Talking about the Toshah Khana case, the PTI chief said that if there was corruption during his time, the opponents would have raised the issue of Toshah Khana instead of highlighting it.
“Toshah Khana is not a museum. If I had not bought the watch, someone else would have bought it during the auction,” he said, adding that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari also bought expensive cars from Toshah Khana.
The former prime minister further said that he will not form a weak government this time because it is not able to deliver results.
