LAHORE: Former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, in response to his claims, said on Monday that criticizing him is tantamount to criticizing the narrative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Responding to now Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s comments about him in an interview on Sunday, the PTI leader said he did not target anyone during his tenure. He added that he also had a lot to say but he never spoke ill of anyone.
Speaking to the media outside the accountability court in Lahore, the former Punjab chief minister said that he is currently in a coalition government and such differences often occur in multi-party coalitions.
Chief Minister Elahi had said that Usman Buzdar ruined the province and he resolved the issues with 4 months of hard work.
The accountability court extended Buzdar’s bail.
On the other hand, the accountability court extended the PTI leader’s bail in the liquor license reference filed against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
This bail was issued by Judge Naseem Ahmed Wark.
During the hearing, the learned judge inquired from the investigating officer of NAB that the case against the former chief minister has been closed. He said he has submitted a request to close the inquiry to the head office – which has the final authority to close the case.
This statement was made after the NAB told the Lahore High Court that it had decided to close the liquor license inquiry against Usman Buzdar on December 8.
This development came to light when a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Ali Baqer Najafi was hearing a petition filed by a private hotel.
The NAB prosecutor informed the bench that the regional board of the anti-graft watchdog has recommended the chairman of the body to close the inquiry against the former chief minister.
The court extended Usman Buzdar’s interim bail till January 5.
