Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Wednesday reiterated his support to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

The Chief Minister wrote on Twitter that we are with Imran Khan wholeheartedly and will continue to support him.

He further said that Muslim League-Q is always united and will remain so. “Rumourmongers are working on a specific agenda,” he said, criticizing the province’s joint opposition.

Chief Minister Elahi’s tweet came after a meeting with members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) parliamentary party in Punjab in Lahore.

In the meeting – presided over by Chief Minister Punjab and Muslim League (Q) parliamentary leader Sajid Bhatti – the members gave full decision-making authority to Chief Minister Punjab and vowed to remain united under his leadership.

If a no-confidence motion is presented in the provincial assembly, the members agreed to vote in favor of the chief minister, speaker and deputy speaker. Bhatti asserted that CM Elahi is the leader of the party, while the party expressed full confidence in him.

We are with Chief Minister Pervez Elahi and will always be. We stand by them with parliamentary, political and public strength.

Referring to the statement, the members said that the nefarious intentions of those propagating dissent will fail.

The political situation was also reviewed in detail in the parliamentary session of the party led by Chaudhry Shujaat.
