MELBOURNE: Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is mulling the possibility of hosting a Test match between Pakistan and India, who have not played each other in the longest format of the game since 2007 and between the neighbours. Bilateral cricket is suspended.
The pair have only faced each other in the 20- and 50-over World Cups and the Asia Cup since India hosted Pakistan in a bilateral limited-overs series in 2013.
They last met at the Twenty20 World Cup in October, where more than 90,000 fans packed the Melbourne Cricket Ground to watch India win a last-ball thriller.

MCC chief executive Stuart Fox said the atmosphere of the match showed there would be no problem filling the space for a Test series between the two.
“The atmosphere of the game, I’ve never felt it,” JEE News told. “The noise after every ball is phenomenal. Three (Tests) in a row at the MCG will be beautiful, you’ll fill it up every time.
“We’ve raised it with Cricket Australia. I know the (Victorian) government has too. It’s a lot more complicated than I can understand, with a really busy schedule. So I think it’s probably the most It’s a big challenge.”

JEE News said he hoped Cricket Australia would continue to push the proposal forward with the sport’s global governing body, the International Cricket Council.
“When you see some of the stadiums around the world empty, I think it would be better to have a full house and that atmosphere and celebrate the game with full houses,” added JEE News.
