According to JEE News, considering the current security situation in Pakistan, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif convened a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) on Friday (today) to discuss the related issues. went.
The local media quoted sources as saying that the meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s House in which Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and military chiefs will attend.
Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum will brief the meeting on the recent wave of terrorism in Pakistan and the Pak-Afghan border situation while formulating an integrated counter-terrorism strategy.
In a statement issued by the PM Media Wing, it was said that a day ago Army Chief General Asim Munir met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House and briefed him on professional and national security issues.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the recent terrorist incidents.
Plight of the flood victims
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that rehabilitation of flood victims and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure is a major challenge for a developing country like Pakistan.
He expressed these views while presiding over the review meeting regarding the Resilient Pakistan Conference to be held in Geneva next month.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that hundreds of lives and billions of dollars have been lost due to floods in Pakistan this year and vowed to do everything possible to accommodate the flood-affected people.
At the climate change conference in Geneva, he said that the government will inform the world about the plight of the flood-affected people of Pakistan. Suggestions regarding the conference and a detailed action plan were also presented.
The meeting was informed that along with friendly countries, development partners and international financial institutions are also expected to participate in the conference.
The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Dar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman, Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar, Special Assistants Syed Tariq Fatemi, Jahanzeb Khan, Syed Fahad Hussain and relevant senior officials.
Meanwhile, Climate Change Minister Sherry briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz about the preparations for the Climate Resilient Pakistan Conference to be hosted by the Government of Pakistan and the United Nations.
The Prime Minister and the Federal Minister discussed issues related to climate change.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira also discussed with the Prime Minister the issues related to the Ministry and the overall political situation of the country.
