Supreme Court allowed ECP to continue contempt of court proceedings against Imran Khan.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday issued a final warning to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan to appear before the commission, and issued a warrant for his arrest. If they don’t follow it. Order. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also allowed the ECP to continue the contempt of court proceedings against the former prime minister.

A four member panel of ECP headed by Nisar Durrani heard the case today.

Advocate Ali Bukhari appeared on behalf of the PTI chairman and pleaded for adjournment of the hearing of the case, arguing that Imran’s health did not allow him to comply with the commission’s order.

On which Nisar Durrani said that PTI chief Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry have been issued notices of contempt of court before.

Justice (R) Ikramullah Khan remarked that arrest warrants should be issued for the three leaders.

Do not issue warrants, only issue notices of appearance. PTI’s lawyer pleaded.

Ikramullah refused to accept the request and said that if the PTI leaders do not appear before the commission at the next hearing, arrest warrants will be issued.

Therefore, the ECP ordered the PTI chief and others to respond to the show-cause notices by January 17.
