Miftah added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is satisfied with his performance and does not want to replace him. “The International Monetary Fund (IMF) accord was restored, and the risk of default was reduced during my tenure,” he said.

The finance minister added that though it was the power of the Prime Minister to remove him, the manner in which it was done was not respectable. Miftah said that Nawaz Sharif called him to London and told him that he was being changed in front of 12 people.

On a question regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Miftah said that there is no doubt that Imran is a good politician and when it comes to political strategy and narrative creation, no one is close to him. do not have.

However, he added that Imran lacks policy-making skills, adding that Imran wants to be prime minister badly but does not know what to do after becoming prime minister.

Miftah-Dar row
This is not the first time that the two PML-N leaders have openly confronted each other. Dar and Miftah have been in a war of words since taking over as finance minister in April.

Earlier in October, Miftah had slammed Dar for reducing the price of petrol by Rs 12.63 per litre.

In a tweet, the former finance minister lashed out at the government’s decision not to increase the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) without IMF approval, calling it “reckless”.

In response to the tweet, Dar said that Miftah should not worry about the IMF deal as he now has to deal with the lender.
