32-year-old to determine winner of next general election

ISLAMABAD: 32-year-olds top the list of registered voters in Pakistan with 3.8964 million of the total 122.196 million voters aged 18-100 and are likely to be a deciding factor in the next general elections, the ECP data shows.

According to the Electoral Rolls of the Election Commission of Pakistan, the 32-year age bracket is followed by the 42-year-olds, who comprise 3.8365 million registered voters.

Surprisingly, the number of registered 32-year-old female voters is higher than male voters of the same age in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

In Balochistan there are 92,716 male and 97,403 female voters of this age, while in KP the number of male voters aged 32 years is 355,378 and 407,020 female voters.

There are 13,721 male and 12,792 female voters aged 32 years in the capital region.

However, in the two largest provinces by population, male voters dominate female voters.

Punjab has 1,080,116 males and 1,031,607 females and the total number of voters above 32 years of age is 2,111,723. Whereas in Sindh there are 414,266 male voters and 391,393 female voters of this age and their collective strength is 805,659. The number of male voters in this age group across the country is 1,956,197 and the number of female voters is 1,940,215.

Like the 32-year-old age group, the 42-year-old age group in Balochistan has more female than male voters. In Balochistan, the number of female voters aged 42 years is 99,094, followed by males at 95,271 and their total number is 194,365.

However, in KP, the difference in the number of male and female voters in KP is much higher, which is 256,292 and 343,888, taking their total to 600,180.

Similar is the situation in Punjab, where the number of women voters above the age of 42 is higher than that of men. Punjab has 1,010,634 male voters of the age of 42 years and 1,101,790 female voters of the same age, bringing the total to 2,112,424.

However, in the federal capital, 11,282 male voters are ahead of 10,832 female voters in this age group.

Overall, 42-year-old female voters outnumber male voters, as there are 461,859 females and 445,641 males in the 42-year-old age group.

Similarly, the total number of male voters in this age group is 1,819,120 and the number of female voters is 2,017,463 making their total number 3,836,583.
