4 terrorists were killed in Peshawar IBO firing.

PESHAWAR: Four terrorists were killed on Saturday in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) conducted by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces of Peshawar region.

According to CTD, on the basis of confirmed information, the teams conducted operations in Sango and Sarband areas of Peshawar to arrest the terrorists.

The militants tried to escape and started firing on seeing the soldiers on the Khyber border.

According to CTD, the exchange of fire between the terrorists and the operation teams continued for some time. After the gunfight ended, a clearance operation was conducted in which four terrorists were killed while three to four managed to escape in the dark.

CTD says that the slain terrorists belonged to a banned organization and were wanted by the department in several incidents.

The department also mentioned the recovery of four Kalashnikovs and three hand grenades from the gunned down terrorists.

Two days ago, security forces killed 11 terrorists in an operation in Wana district of South Waziristan, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The operation was also conducted on the basis of intelligence after which Pakistani troops successfully “thwarted a high-profile terrorist operation”.

The country’s government, army and other institutions have vowed to deal with terrorism and terrorists after the continuous attacks in the past few months, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to data provided by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, militant activity has been mainly concentrated in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accounting for 31 percent of attacks during the past year and 67 percent of attacks since then.

The Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) in its annual report said that Pakistan witnessed 376 terrorist attacks during the past year, with most of these attacks attributed to banned terrorist organizations such as the TT. P, ISIS and Balochistan accepted. Liberation Army (BLA).

In light of the increasing incidents of terrorism, the National Security Committee (NSC) on January 2 decided that no country would be allowed to provide shelter and facilities to terrorists, and Pakistan should protect its people. All rights reserved.
