LAHORE: Muslim League (Q) leader Moonis Elahi’s friend, who was kidnapped last week, reached home and was produced by the city police chief in the Lahore High Court (LHC) today.
Geo News, citing CCTV footage, reported that she was left outside her house in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Ahmed Faran Khan went missing from Garden Town four days ago and according to Moonis Elahi, he was abducted by unknown persons in black vehicles in Lahore.
Faran’s brother, Salman Zaheer Khan, had filed a habeas corpus petition in the Lahore High Court, alleging that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had illegally detained him.
The petitioner maintained that his brother Faran was allegedly abducted by 8 persons on the evening of January 6 and it is feared that he was abducted by the Federal Government.

Taking notice of the incident, the Lahore High Court directed the FIA to recover Faran Khan, a friend of Muslim League (Q) leader Moonis Elahi and produce him in court on January 10.
During the hearing headed by Justice Alia Neelam, the FIA maintained that the agency had not arrested Faran and was not in his custody.
The court ordered the Lahore CCPO to recover Faran and produce him in the court on Tuesday. However, the police asked for more time to produce it.
‘I was here with the family’
Ahead of the Lahore High Court hearing today, Faran Khan told reporters in response to questions that he was with his family.
“I was here with the family,” he said, when asked about his whereabouts in the past few days.
When Faran Khan was questioned about the injury on his forehead, he said that it was due to my head hitting the car door.
