Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi will visit Dubai on January 12 where he will meet officials of three international cricket bodies, sources told JEE News on Tuesday.

Sources said Sethi – who took over as committee chairman last month – is expected to meet the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), International Cricket Council (ICC) and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). Is.

According to sources, Sethi has been invited by the ECB to Dubai where he will attend the opening ceremony of the International League T20 which is scheduled to start from January 13.

The purpose of the PCB Management Committee Chairman’s meeting with the ACC officials is to present Pakistan’s position on the Asia Cup issue, during which the board’s strained relationship with the ACC will also be discussed.

Last week, the PCB management committee chairman tweeted that ACC president Jay Shah had “unilaterally” decided on the calendar and route structure.

The ACC, however, rejected Sethi’s comments about the ACC calendar 2023-24 and the route structure.

The ACC said in a press release, “It has come to our knowledge that PCB Chairman Mr. Najam Sethi has taken the decision to unilaterally finalize and announce the calendar on the ACC President. What’s the comment?”

The ACC wishes to clarify that it has followed the prescribed procedure. The calendar was approved by its Development Committee and Finance and Marketing Committee in a meeting held on 13 December 2022.

Sources said that on the occasion of his visit, Sethi will also meet the ICC and discuss the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

It should be noted that Najam Sethi was appointed as the head of the management committee of PCB in December last year in place of the former head Ramiz Raja.
