London: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Pakistan Muslim League (N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz returned to London after spending a week in Switzerland.
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz along with other family members reached London late on Tuesday night.
He also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the Swiss capital Geneva. Sources say that the Prime Minister attended the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan in Geneva.
Multilateral and bilateral donors pledged more than $10 billion for the rehabilitation of Pakistan’s flood victims at the conference, which was hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
A Sharif family source said that the newly appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer will return to Pakistan within 10 days from London.
Maryam and Nawaz were accompanied by family members and Nawaz’s private physician Dr. Adnan Khan to Geneva. Over the weekend, Dr. Khan tweeted that Maryam had undergone a throat operation at a local hospital.
Sources say that both Nawaz and Maryam had booked extensive medical appointments in the Swiss capital. He also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz for three hours in which matters related to the economy of Punjab and Pakistan were discussed and “decisions” were taken.
On 21 November 2022, PML-N supremo Nawaz embarked on a five-country tour of Europe with his daughter and other family members.
The family will visit various European countries during the 10-day tour. Sources further said that the family reached a European country last night.
It should be noted that Maryam Nawaz was in London for the past few days to spend time with her father. On October 5, 2022, Maryam reached London to meet her father Nawaz again after three years.
