Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the party leadership to prepare for elections in Punjab.
According to a statement by Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, the PML-N leader said these things at the party’s consultative meeting in London.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Nazir Tarar and other leaders of the ruling party also participated in the meeting in person and through video link.
According to Aurangzeb, Nawaz also directed the party to set up a parliamentary board, and instructed all workers to “move forward with full enthusiasm, confidence, and full readiness and vigour”.

Sources said that in the meeting, senior leaders of PML-N were instructed to mobilize workers across Punjab. Nawaz said that our candidates should actively participate in the election.
Sources said that during the meeting, it was also decided that the people would be made aware of the “damage” to the country under Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s government.
The PML-N supremo added that no good can be expected from Khan, who has “undemocratic thinking”.
The PML-N chief reportedly said, “The corruption that started in Imran Khan’s house during his tenure will be exposed to me.”
Shortly after Nawaz’s directive, the Punjab Assembly was dissolved after Governor Balighur Rehman refused to sign the summary of dissolution of the Legislative Assembly.
According to the rules, the provincial elections will now be held within 90 days. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has announced that the Provincial Legislative Assembly will also be dissolved today.
