In its written reply, CDA told JEE News that the civic body did not hire a consultant due to changes in the Master Plan Commission.

According to official documents, Khan had informed the civic agency that his house has an area of 1,1371.09 square feet on the ground floor. 1,206,000 was charged by the CDA for the ground floor of his house by calculating the scrutiny and regularization fees without approving the building construction charges.

However, the regularization of the entire layout of his 300 kanal house is subject to fulfillment of other conditions specified in Clause 8.22 of the Islamabad Capital Territory Building Control Rules (BCR) 2020. According to CDA officials, the regularization process consists of a proper system and the process is completed only after approval of site area along with calculation of fees. According to the authorities, the site includes the total area and location of the specific house including specific setbacks, front, rear, side and main access roads as the approval is given in the context of the overall layout of the site and Not just the building.

Khan wrote a letter to the then Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, drawing his attention to the illegal constructions and municipal lawlessness in Bani Gala. The CDA then told the Supreme Court that Khan’s own house was illegal. After that, the Supreme Court ordered the civic body to regularize the houses in the area, including Khan’s.

Apart from Khan, many other dignitaries had also approached the CDA to take advantage of the Supreme Court orders to regularize their houses in Bani Gala. Tariq Fatemi, Brigadier Waseem Iftikhar Cheema and Ehsan Ghani were among those who approached the CDA.

JEE News had sent a questionnaire to PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry more than two weeks ago but has not yet received a reply from him.
