Quetta: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi laid the foundation stone of a cricket academy at the Saryab Sports Complex here on Monday.
This project is being established under Afridi’s Shahid Afridi Foundation with the support of the Government of Balochistan.
The Chief Minister of the province, Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo, along with members of the Provincial Assembly and their Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Aqeeli were present in the ceremony.
Bizenjo said that I welcome Shahid Afridi on his arrival here. “Today is a big day, on which we are providing a platform to the youth of the province to showcase their skills and performance.”
Bizenjo said his government would fully cooperate with the Shahid Afridi Foundation so that the academy would be constructed in the next three months – a successful project.
Afridi said that I wish that Balochistan has its own cricket league.
