The PTI sent its nominees on Sunday while the Muslim League (N) shared its recommendations on Tuesday before office hours before the deadline.

Chief Minister Elahi and Hamza had until 10 pm on Tuesday night to agree on a name for the caretaker chief minister, but they could not agree, after which the governor directed the speaker to form a parliamentary committee.

A bipartisan panel will now be constituted, comprising three members each from the Treasury and Opposition benches, two of whom will be nominated, and will have three days to reach a conclusion.

In case of disagreement, the Election Commission of Pakistan will decide the matter.
