In a blow to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN), party central leader Pir Muhammad Aminul Hasnat Shah joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday.
Along with PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and PTI Secretary General Asad Umar, Hasnat announced joining PTI during a press conference.
During the conference in Sargodha, explaining his reason for moving to the PTI, Hasnat rather cryptically said, “As time passes, new information comes out.”
He then thanked senior PTI leaders, especially Qureshi, whom he called a “leader” in his family and praised him highly. Hasnat also prayed that they continue to have good experiences in politics.
Addressing the press conference, Qureshi praised Hasnat for his experience as a politician and spiritual leader.
The PTI senior said he has a “long-standing spiritual connection” with Hasnat, and her joining the PTI will further strengthen the party in Sargodha.

Moreover, Chaudhry also expressed gratitude for Hasnat’s decision while speaking on the occasion. The former minister claimed that Hasnat and his family have a lot of influence in Sargodha, Rawalpindi division and other parts of the country.

Chaudhry, along with Umar, expressed immense admiration for PTI Chairman Imran Khan, calling him a “true Muslim” and the greatest devotee. There is no one more devoted than Khan.
Both also reiterated that the PML-N’s central leader joining PTI is very important for the party.

This development took place immediately after the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly. With by-elections to be held within 90 days of the dissolution, the inclusion of a Muslim League (N) stalwart who is also a religious leader is likely to boost PTI’s bid for the by-elections.
