Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has asked people to stop flooding the board with requests to recruit or promote people.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, the former PCB chairman pleaded with “relatives, friends, acquaintances and persons in authority” not to request such favors from him.
Last month, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif – in a bid to restore the PCB’s 2014 constitution – named the 74-year-old as the head of the management committee. As a result, the dissolution of the board ended the tenure of former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.
“I am inundated with “requests” from relatives, friends, acquaintances and people in authority to recruit or promote people in PCB. Please, please, everyone, understand that PCB employment Agency is not,” he tweeted.
Sethi added that he “cannot, will not, follow bad practices of the past to undermine his professional integrity”.
I am flooded with “requests” from relatives, friends, acquaintances & persons in authority to hire or promote people in PCB. Please, Please, everyone, understand PCB is not an employment agency. I cannot, will not, follow bad past practices to erode its professional integrity.

Since assuming his post as the head of the management committee, Sethi has also been receiving requests for Pakistan Super League passes and the right to select any player.
The PCB management committee chief in a tweet requested his friends and dignitaries to “not ask for free tickets/passes for PSL matches starting next month.”
He added: “The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly, which audits the PCB, has warned us to desist from this practice.”

Sethi also requested people not to contact him for the inclusion of any player in the team or the employment of any undeserving person.
He wrote: “I am also requesting friends and higher authorities not to act rudely to select any player or coach etc. or to give employment or facility to any undeserving person. And cannot afford to be ineffective. Could be.”
