Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan may be summoned regarding the allegations against former President Asif Ali Zardari.
Sanaullah’s remarks were part of a response to the PTI chief’s claim in a public speech in January that Zardari was plotting an assassination to get Imran killed.
“It is the right of the state to ask whether Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed has any evidence to support his allegations against the former president,” the minister said during program on Thursday. There is evidence.” He said that what is happening with AML chief Sheikh Rasheed is not political revenge.
Rashid, who was arrested in the case of accusing former President Asif Ali Zardari, has been sent to jail on two-day physical remand.
Sanaullah asserted that the PML-N government did not ask Sheikh Rasheed to make such serious allegations, and the Election Commission of Pakistan, not the government, filed a case against PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry. The government is currently investigating the incident where Fawad’s face was covered with a cloth.
He said that the government is investigating Fawad’s face covering with a cloth.
He asserted that the government does not want to arrest anyone but wants to end the spread of terrorism through statements.
He said that the government would share the details of the Peshawar blast with the Afghan government as it is believed that facilitators of terrorism in Pakistan are hiding in Afghanistan.
He said that there is no doubt that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants went to Afghanistan from Pakistan.
He further said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the Apex Committee in Peshawar today.
Allegations
The PTI chairman had alleged in January that Zardari was planning as well as financing an assassination attempt against him for which the former president had hired “terrorists”.
The PTI chief alleged that “…there is a plan C. Asif Zardari is behind it. He has collected a lot of money through corruption and he has invested this money in terrorists and a have hired a militant outfit,” the PTI chief had alleged. However, the PPP strongly denied the claim and sent a legal notice to Khan.
After the allegations leveled by Khan, Rashid also supported the claims and supported the allegations.
