LAHORE: In a major development, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan’s order denotifying 43 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs.
The High Court stayed the by-elections to 43 constituencies of de-notified MNAs till further notice.
This directive was given during the hearing of a petition filed by Riyaz Fatiana and other legislators against the acceptance of resignations by the Speaker of the National Assembly. The ECP de-notified the legislators after the Speaker sent their resignations to the electoral body.
