Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced on Friday that the federal government has allocated 10 billion rupees to help Turkey’s earthquake relief efforts, saying that Pakistan will continue to help the disaster-stricken country every day.

A devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria on Monday morning, killing nearly 21,000 people so far, as hopes of finding more survivors faded.

Speaking at the airport in Lahore where the relief materials were being sent to the earthquake victims, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan will never leave Turkey under these conditions, appealing to the nation to pray for the earthquake victims in Friday prayers today. do

The Prime Minister said that thousands of people have been killed and injured in Turkey and Syria and many are searching for their loved ones buried under the rubble.

“I am sure that the people of Turkey and Syria will come out of this trouble,” he said, adding that Pakistan had assured Turkey of help the day the tragedy took place.

He said that the Turkish president visited Pakistan when the country was hit by severe floods and donated millions of dollars to the flood-affected people.

“A team of the Pakistan Army was sent the day the earthquake hit Turkey and relief supplies started,” he added.

He said that 100 tons of goods are being sent to Turkey in a truck today.

The Prime Minister urged the public, welfare organizations and businessmen to actively participate in the fund-raising campaign. He also requested help from the chief ministers in this regard.

“A committee has been formed to send funds to Turkey. 1,486 tons of relief goods are being sent to Turkey and Syria,” he added.

The Prime Minister said that 13 centers have been established in Pakistan to collect funds, donations will also be collected in educational institutions across the country.

Earlier this week, Pakistan established a relief fund to help victims of the deadly earthquake in Turkey.

Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said after the arrival of aid supplies and rescue team aircraft from Pakistan to Turkey on Tuesday, “To help the victims of the earthquake in Turkey at this difficult time, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to establish the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.” What is it.”

The federal minister said that the federal cabinet has announced to give one month’s salary while the prime minister has appealed to philanthropists for help.
