Adiman: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday that Pakistan will continue to provide maximum assistance to Turkey in the recovery and reconstruction phases after the earthquake.
The prime minister made the comments as he handed over relief supplies – mainly winter tents – to Turkish authorities, during his visit to the city of Idyaman after the massive earthquake that killed more than 36,000 people. and disaster spread in the country.
A special aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) airlifted relief supplies to the worst-hit region of Adiaman in southeastern Turkey, which was heavily damaged by the powerful earthquake on February 6.
The Prime Minister interacted with the victims of the earthquake who lost their families and expressed their condolences on behalf of the Pakistani nation.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the Turkish government and the victims that Pakistan will cooperate with the brother country in all possible ways to deal with the disaster.
Calling Turkey a friend and brother country of Pakistan, he expressed hope that this country will overcome the difficult times with flexibility.
He also met the aid teams of Pakistan participating in the search operation.
Earlier, the Prime Minister was received by Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mas, Minister of Communications Adil Ismailoglu, Governor of Adiman Mahmud Choudhar, President of Turkey-Pakistan Friendship Group in the Turkish Parliament Ali Shaheen and senior officials on his arrival at Adiman Airport.
In a special gesture of solidarity with the Turkish nation, the Prime Minister arrived in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, on a two-day visit on Thursday.
The federal cabinet has also decided to send 20,000 quilts to the earthquake victims and has directed the finance department to release 50 million rupees for this purpose.
Pakistan mobilized relief aid to both Turkey and Syria after the severe earthquake. The country sent an 85-member civilian search and rescue team, a 10-member search and rescue team, and a 10-member medical team to assist in the relief efforts.
