On Saturday, two laborers were killed and three injured when the shutter of the pillar of Bahara Kaho bridge under construction fell in the federal capital.
According to the initial police report, the shutter fell when the truck hit the pillar.
The Islamabad Capital Territory Police informed the citizens about the incident and advised them to avoid using the road so as not to obstruct the relief activities.

The police say that the condition of the injured who have been transferred to the polyclinic hospital is said to be unsatisfactory while the rescue operation is going on at the accident site.
He said that Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir and Chief Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal along with top officials of police and administration were present at the scene.

He said that considering the possibility of more laborers being buried under the debris, the district administration had ordered a big crane to be brought to the site.
Talking to the media, Mangal said that two to three big trailer trucks had passed by the bridge between 2 am and 3 am and hit the shuttering support of the pillar.
“Safety and traffic protocols were violated,” he said, adding that a truck was still trapped under the debris.
Mengal further said that a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has been formed to look into all aspects of the incident.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah expressed regret over the unfortunate incident and ordered to complete the rescue operation soon. He also ordered the Capital Development Authority to determine the elements responsible for the incident.
In the light of the orders, Chief Commissioner Islamabad formed an eight-member investigation committee to investigate the matter.
