LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has sought records of development projects initiated during the tenure of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Usman Buzdar, JEE News reported on Saturday.
The newly appointed Director General of Punjab ACE Sohail Zafar Chatta has asked all the commissioners to appear before the establishment with the records related to the development projects during the tenure of Pervez Elahi. Apart from this, the details of PTI era development projects were also sought from him.
According to sources, in the first phase, senior officers of government departments who served in the Punjab government from 2018 to 2023 during the tenure of PTI and Pervez Elahi were called for inquiry along with records.
ACE also issued a warning that any senior officer who does not cooperate with the anti-corruption record will be arrested.
According to sources, ACE Punjab has reopened the inquiry against Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed.
The department also resumed the inquiry into the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal.
Sources further said that in the second phase, former ministers of PTI and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s cabinet will be called for enquiry. He said that inquiry and arrests are likely to start next week. Sources say that the establishment ordered the arrest of corrupt officers and former ministers by March 15.
All the cases filed against Farah Gogi in the Anti-Corruption Department have also been reopened.
Punjab ACE decided to adjourn LDA cases pending in courts.
Sources say that the records of the departments of former minister Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid, Chaudhry Monis Elahi, Raja Basharat, Murad Ras, Dr. Yasmin Rashid and other ministers have been sought. Anwar Shah, the Punjab ACE officer who took the files from the department, is absconding.
The anti-corruption establishment has also sought the records of all the housing societies across Punjab. The department intends to determine how many housing societies were given relief by former chief ministers Usman Buzdar and Pervaiz Elahi during their tenure.
