Police told JEE News on Sunday that the death toll rose to four in a motorcycle blast in Balochistan’s Barkhan district while 12 others were injured.
The blast took place in Rakhni Bazaar of Barkhan, damaging nearby shops and vehicles. Police said that the injured have been shifted to Rakhni Hospital and Dera Ghazi Khan Hospital.
According to initial reports, the explosives were planted in a motorcycle parked in the market.
PM Shehbaz Sharif seeks report
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sought a report on the incident from Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Qudous Bizenjo and Inspector General of Police (IG).
The Prime Minister also directed to provide the best medical facilities to those injured in the blast.
“Terrorists will not escape punishment,” the prime minister stressed.
The Prime Minister condemned the incident and expressed grief over the loss of precious lives. He further said that we will make an example to those who shed innocent blood.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also prayed for the deceased and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
In a separate statement, Chief Minister Bizenjo condemned the incident and directed the authorities concerned to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured.
Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of life, Hasil Bizenjo said that anti-state elements will not be allowed to succeed.
