Islamabad: The administration of the federal capital has decided that the Banking Court and the Anti-Terrorism Court will be cordoned off tomorrow (Tuesday) on the occasion of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s appearance.
No unrelated person will be allowed to enter the courtroom as long as Imran Khan is there.
Sources told JEE News here on Sunday that the administration does not want a repeat of the Lahore High Court (LHC) where two hundred people blocked movement in a small part of the compound.
This caused a lot of trouble to the parties and the court. Sources say that the relevant authorities are in touch with PTI to ensure that the court appearance is peaceful. The administration has informed the PTI people about the steps to be taken to avoid any untoward incident from the federal government. A meeting of top officials will be held today (Monday) to consider the arrangements for Imran’s appearance.
The administration has planned to make all possible arrangements on this occasion as no one will be allowed to riot on this day. The Islamabad Police has been entrusted with the responsibility of making security arrangements around the courts during and before Imran’s arrival. Sources said that Rangers can be called for security as per requirement. In another important development, the FIA will take a position in the court that Imran’s medical examination should be conducted in one of the two major hospitals in the federal capital so that doctors can determine the nature of his injury and illness. The contents of the FIA state that Imran is undergoing treatment for his injuries at a cancer hospital. He has been producing medical certificates of the cancer hospital which incidentally is controlled by him and them.
It is understood that Imran will oppose such a medical examination on some pretext or the other. PTI is keeping Imran’s movement schedule and his upcoming stay secret. Whether this is due to security reasons or other concerns, could not be specified. It is not yet clear whether he will stay in Bani Gala Islamabad or move to Peshawar for further stay.
