Karachi Kings’ aggressive opener Matthew Wade said they still have a chance to qualify for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 8 playoffs if they win all their remaining matches.

Speaking to the media about Karachi’s 24-run loss to Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, Wade said that he could not capitalize on the good start he got while bowling as well as batting.

Wade said: “We’ve lost most of the games by a narrow margin. Our run-rate is probably keeping us in the tournament at the moment.”

The left-hander added that he will get another chance in a few days. “We have to bounce back and win the next three games. If we manage to win all the remaining games, we will be in the next round.”

Chasing 198 runs against Zalmi, Wade scored 53 off 41 balls to give his team a great start. Wade said he could have finished the game for the Kings.

After their fifth defeat in the league stage, the Kings are now fifth in the points table with four points from seven matches. Their run rate of 0.565 keeps them in the hunt for a spot in the next round.
