Netflix Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who portrayed Addams in the series, revealed that she took inspiration from her character to develop her personal style.
In an interview, the actress said, “When I was at work on Wednesday, all of a sudden I was wearing only black,” adding that “I don’t know why, for some reason, my wardrobe has lost all its color.”
The 20-year-old actor became a recognizable face from Netflix’s hit psychological thriller You , then became the latest sensation with her character Addams, created by cartoonist Charles Addams.
While she said she’s played characters whose clothes weren’t a “good representation” of what she would wear, Budda Adams’ fashion inspires her as she becomes Adidas’ newest ambassador.
“I love the purple pieces,” she explained, talking about the outlet’s athletic line of new sportswear.
“Maybe it’s because, after Wednesday, I just don’t wear a lot of color. Now I feel like I stick to darker, more earthy tones, so I like them because they really look good on everyone. Sounds good, but also kind of stressful. Let me try something new.”
The Netflix series debuted on the streaming platform on Wednesday in November 2022 and the titular role played by Ortega brought him worldwide fame and success.
