Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed has come under fire from social media users after his team’s disappointing performance in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and his poor form throughout the tournament.
The Gladiators have lost five of their six league games so far in the tournament and are sixth in the points table.
QG’s poor run is a continuation of their poor form over the past four seasons. The team has not made it to the playoffs of the tournament since lifting the trophy in 2019.
Fans disappointed with the team’s poor performance took to social media and took captain Sarfraz to the cleaners.
Waqar Younis summed it perfectly you can't just play run a ball as number 6 batter, especially when required rate is high

Sarfaraz is QG's biggest problem
Their miseries won't solve until they get rid of this man

When was the last time Sarfaraz won a match for his team with his performance? 🤔

My man of the match is Hussain Talat for his excellent game awareness for not trying to run out Sarfaraz purposely two times.

Not sure why Shaheen was upset on him as it was pretty obvious and technical. #LQvQG
It doesn't matter if the target is 200+ or 140+ Sarfaraz Ahmed will play Test match, his performance as a captain is totally unprofessional, he cannot stand for his team anymore! pic.twitter.com/UPYTQRoVz6

Sarfaraz without a doubt doesnt deserve to be in the playing 11 for QG let alone the captain. He has been absolutely pathetic this entire tournament.

I dont see any zeal in sarfaraz what so ever. He might be fine for test but man's not a t20 player

If Quetta don't sack Sarfaraz, Moin and Nabeel after this season I will have no choice but to change teams. I value team loyalty in sports too much hence why I've stuck by the last 4 seasons. But if a franchise is committed to making decisions on friendships, a fan has no choice.

After losing by 17 runs to Lahore Qalandars on Thursday, Quetta are on the brink of a definite exit from the tournament.
Lahore defeated Quetta.
On the other hand, defending champions Lahore Qalandars are having a dream come true in PSL as they managed to defeat Quetta despite losing their 7 wickets for just 52 runs. They won by 17 runs in the 18th match of the league at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The Qalandars continue to rule the points table with the top position, while the Gladiators are at the bottom.
Shaheen Shah Afridi-led Qalandars restricted Sarfraz Ahmed-led Gladiators to 131-7 in 20 overs, as they struggled to chase down their 149-run target.
