An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge issued remarks about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan as he appeared in court with a throng of people at Islamabad’s judicial complex.
The former prime minister appeared in three courts on February 28 to attend the hearing of four cases filed against him. Khan had obtained interim bail in three cases while non-bailable arrest warrants were issued against him in one case.
During the hearing of a case in the ATC, the judge, without mentioning Khan’s name, remarked that the PTI chief had appeared in court with 2,000 people.
He said that he has named his party ‘Insaaf’ but he chants slogans of ‘Zindabad’ and ‘Mardabad’.
The judge said that Khan gives examples of Britain but does not respect the court. “He disrespected the court during his appearance and brought thugs with him,” the judge said.
“Now he will keep me busy with court hearings until next year,” the ATC judge said, adding that he had CCTV footage of the incident.
Earlier this week, when Khan reached the judicial complex in the federal capital, a large number of PTI workers forcibly entered the building by knocking the gate.
Security arrangements were disrupted in Sector G-11 of the judicial complex as PTI workers removed all barricades and staged a protest.
