LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers gathered at Zaman Park after the Islamabad Police reached the Lahore residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to arrest him in the Toshakhana case.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal of a court in Islamabad issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the former prime minister on February 28.
An Islamabad police official while talking to the media at Zaman Park said that he was in Lahore because the former prime minister had failed to appear in court in the Toshakhana case.
The official said that they had reached Zaman Park under the leadership of a Superintendent of Police (SP).
“We have the help of the Lahore police,” an Islamabad police official told the media.
All roads leading to Zaman Park have been blocked and barricades have been erected outside Khan’s house.
The police are also negotiating with PTI workers regarding Khan’s arrest. Apart from this, police officials from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan are also present at the scene.

According to reports, the people inside Imran Khan’s residence are not opening the doors while a large number of PTI workers have started reaching Zaman Park.
Senior PTI leaders including Fawad Chaudhry, Yasmin Rashid, Asad Umar, Ejaz Chaudhry and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are present at Khan’s residence in Lahore.
When the news of the arrest broke, Fawad warned that the situation in the country would deteriorate if the government took action against the former prime minister.

Fawad said that ‘any attempt to arrest Imran Khan will make the situation serious, I want to warn this incompetent and anti-Pakistan government not to push Pakistan into further crisis and act sensibly’.
