Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded an inquiry from the Lahore High Court (LHC) judge into the alleged custodial death of party worker Ali Bilal on March 8.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry accused the Caretaker Chief Minister and the Inspector General (IG) of creating a misleading narrative and trying to erase the blood stains on the hands of the Caretaker Government.

Criticizing the Chief Minister’s press conference, Chaudhry said that instead of providing facts, the government is making false cases against PTI leadership including Imran Khan, Hammad Azhar and himself.

He also accused the government of destroying the entire prosecution structure in the province.

Chaudhry claimed that if Ali Bilal’s death was the result of an accident, why did the government file a case against the PTI leadership.

He added that the chief minister’s presser with the IG was just a cover-up, as seen after the attack on Imran Khan and the assassination of Arshad Sharif.

Chaudhry stressed the need for a senior High Court judge to examine the facts and determine the truth behind the incident.

He said that it has become difficult for the courts to determine whether the person whom the police presents as an accused is really a criminal or not.
