During the hearing, PTI chief Intizar Haider Panjotha’s lawyer said that it is not safe for the 71-year-old politician to come to Islamabad amid security threats against him, adding that he has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court. (IHC) seeking permission to practically appear before the courts.

Naeem Haider Panjotha, another member of Khan’s legal team, said that the former prime minister has filed an application for exemption from attendance on security grounds.

The lawyer also pleaded to accept Imran’s plea saying that “non-appearance and non-appearance due to some reasons are two different things.”

Earlier, the sessions court had rejected the PTI chief’s request saying that if Imran does not appear in the court today, a non-bailable arrest warrant will be issued against him.

Fazil Judge said that if Imran Khan does not appear during the court hours today, he will issue a non-bailable arrest warrant.

After which the court adjourned the hearing till 12:30 pm and resumed.

A case was registered against the PTI chairman in Islamabad’s Margalla police station for making threatening remarks on Judge Zeba Chaudhry.
