Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar made more than 100 crores worldwide in just six days of its release.
Although the film didn’t receive much acclaim domestically and the international numbers are not too promising, it still stands at number two for the year.
In just six days, TJMM managed to earn INR 82 crores while the international collection is around 20.5 crores taking the total collection to 102-103 crores. There is plenty of time left for the film to collect decent amount till the release of Ajay Devgn’s much anticipated Bhola which is all set to hit the theaters on March 31.
Additionally, the Ranbir and Shraddha starrer rom-com has become the 12th film to cross the 100 crore mark post-pandemic. After the pandemic subsided, it became very difficult for filmmakers to attract audiences to cinemas as they became very particular about their film choices during the pandemic.
So, the success of films like Pathan and TJMM in terms of numbers is not the only criterion. But this success at least gives filmmakers a way to gauge what genre audiences are willing to watch and which are outright rejects, JEE News reports.
