Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Najam Sethi on Tuesday announced that the national coaching staff for the upcoming T20 series against Afghanistan later this month includes Umar Gul, Mohammad Yousuf and Abdul Rehman.
Sethi announced the names of those selected to be part of the coaching staff on his official Twitter handle.
He said that Pakistan’s former Test fast bowler Umar Gul has been selected as the bowling coach while former Test batsman Muhammad Yusuf has been made the team’s batting coach.
Meanwhile, domestic coach Abdul Rahman will lead the coaching staff as head coach.

Umar was recently the bowling coach of the Afghanistan national team. He has also been associated as bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League (PSL). Rahman coached the KP team in domestic cricket and is currently part of their coaching team with Multan Sultans.
Yusuf was part of the previous coaching panel under the supervision of head coach Saqlain Mushtaq.
On 13 March, PCB announced the 15-man squad for the T20 series against Afghanistan. The cricket board has rested its key players including national team captain Babar Azam.
Considering the national team’s busy schedule ahead this year, the PCB has announced an inexperienced squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan scheduled in Sharjah in late March.
Babar, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan have been rested. Shadab Khan, who was the vice-captain of the Pakistan team in the white-ball format, was named the captain for the T20 series in Afghanistan.
Players including Imad Wasim, Saeem Ayub, Azam Khan, Ehsanullah and Zaman Khan who performed during the PSL this year have been included in the 15-member squad.
