Amidst the tense situation at Lahore’s Zaman Park following Imran Khan’s arrest, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that today’s playoff match will go ahead as planned.

“The PSL8 Qualifier in Lahore will be played as scheduled at the Gaddafi Stadium today,” the governing body of cricket in Pakistan tweeted.

The situation in Lahore is tense as clashes continue between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and the police over the arrest of Imran Khan. According to the court orders, the police is trying to arrest the PTI chief from tomorrow.

The playoff match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will be played today at 7 pm.

Both the teams had to cancel their practice session on Tuesday due to unrest in the city.

The PSL’s thrilling league stage matches concluded in style for the playoffs of Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Islamabad United.

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars and PSL 2022 runners-up Multan Sultans will face each other in the qualifier match.

The defending champions are confident of maintaining their winning streak against Sultans, while the Rizwan-led side will look to bounce back and reach the finals like last year.

While the winning team will qualify for the finals, the losing team will play a second eliminator against the winning team of the first eliminator.
